Oh how I LOVE this show...

Oh we have some fantastic couples this season...

Meet Brent and Caite...

You might remember her from this...

We have our first lesbian couple...
(and they are already cracking me up with their Louis Vuitton and valet parking talk)

and of course my absolute FAVORITE....
Jeff and Jordan

Oh, how I LOVE them...if you didn't already know from all my BIG BROTHER chat last summer about wanting a Big Brother wedding! I'm just real glad that they are together...there is still a chance. Oh...and Jeff completely still cracks me up...can you tell that I am excited that I get to watch them again...yahoo!

First funny of the night...The cowboys getting Brazilian money when they were heading to Chile.

It is a good sign that my Jeff and Jordan came in 1st...you have no idea how happy this makes me...LOVE THEM!

It is NOT a good sign when on the first episode you have a team walking instead of riding on the trammy thing (acquiring a 30 minute penalty)...you have teams who are painting the inside of a house instead of the outside...you have a team losing a paint brush when the task is painting (acquiring a 15 minute penalty)...you have a guy who can't even complete the very first task...a team who decides to paint over some graffiti...

You know it's going to be an interesting race when you have 2 penalties in the first leg...AND...when a team has to get kicked off at the first task 'cause they can't even make it to the pit stop mat....are these that sad of teams? Looks like my Jeff and Jordan stand a GOOD chance of making it far:)

mud volleyball...

Why is it that the brother's keep saying the globetrotters are their biggest competition and they have wanted them gone for a long time.  Ummmm....haven't the cute young couple come in first in more then half of the legs?  Even if they don't win the million...they sure do have a ton of prizes. I think the brothers need to re-think their competition.  And how is it that Miss "i wanna be" America and her husband are still in this thing...blech!  And a little tear for daddy and son...I liked them!

Of the final four...the cute young couple are the only ones I remotely enjoy.   I wouldn't mind the brothers, if they weren't so devious and mean (at times).  I wouldn't mind the globetrotters, if they weren't already rich.  I do mind the married couple...she's awful!

READ the clue...

Heaven forbid anyone ever read the entire clue before choosing a task...don't do the dance if you can't eat the herring.  Don't walk in those awful wooden shoes if there are bikes to ride...

Oh...and have you never learned...you can't keep switching back and forth from one task to another...you WILL be sent home.

Not that I'm crying over poker 1 and poker 2 going home...hallelujah...just bummed that I still have to listen to annoying Miss America wannabe yell at her husband!

It's just a water slide...and some dancing!

I will forever be in shock that Mika didn't just do down the slide...I would have pushed her down with sheer brute force...completely ridiculous! Oh well...I didn't want them to win...still shooting for the cute young couple with blonde hair...or the dad/son team!

Did you watch the top 20 last night...I did (with my mom in Seattle:) and it was good.  Have a few favs already...and the people that I didn't like...still don't like.  My fav routines were the hip hop (shocker, I know) and the 2 contemporary dances (another shocker:).  I did NOT like the tap routine...and was ho hum about the ballroom dancers.  I actually like the "husband" and the "wife who's husband was eliminated in Vegas"...don't really like the "husband's wife" (and that is how I will refer to them.

I am a little confused about what Cat said at the end of the show...something about 2 people being eliminated tonight...did I hear wrong?....we shall see!

Kids...Kids...kids...will you ever learn?

DO NOT EVER...I mean EVER...lose....YOUR PASSPORT.  How sad...so sad...I liked Zev...didn't want him to go out like that.  Gave those silly poker playing girls another chance...just sad!

I'm a huge slacker...

Seems like if I get away from my daily blog about sweet reality tv, that I get so behind, I'm not even sure how to catch up...so here is how I feel about what has happened in the past week...

Hell's Kitchen: the correct final 3 is the correct final 3.  It will be interesting to see who will be up against the bald guy (let's be honest...you know who I am talking about better then if I used his name)...but I am pretty sure that "Kevin" will win the whole thing...just my opinion.  Can I just say that I am a little annoyed by his language...mostly because he has a small child that will be watching the show and seeing a whole lot of bleeps and cloudy mouths due to his use of those 4 letter words.  Guess he can't go telling the little one not to use such language if he does on national tv...I'm just saying.

Amazing Race: I kinda skimmed through this past Sunday's episode...I'm not sure why, maybe because I had a ton of other shows to get through....I wasn't sad about the older couple going home.  They seemed so nonchalant about the challenges...I guess it's a good thing they had a good time!

So you think you can dance: I'm SO glad we are finally in Vegas! I am SO glad that many of the people they spotlighted in the first few weeks have gotten the boot! I am SO glad that Dance doesn't promote their top 20 prior to them being in the top 20...it's fun that we usually don't have a clue who any of them are when the real comp begins!  Did any one else notice the blond curly hair girl.  They put here through to Vegas after her city try-out on Tuesdays show...isn't she the younger sister of Kaitlyn from last season (sucky Kaitlyn that stayed in the top 20 way too long).  I'm pretty sure that was her...how come they didn't remind us of this...is it because she makes the top 20 this year and they don't want her to have an unfair advantage???  I'm just curious!  Oh, and in case you are wondering.....I LOVE this show!  I LOVE the judges!  I LOVE nappytabs (just wanted to remind you all)....can't wait till next week and more Dance!

Project Runway: Last week they worked in teams doing "blue" outfits...what cracked me up about the outfits last week, is the designers who were so proud and sure of their outfits were in the bottom...and the designers that were being made fun of by others were in the top...Awesome! Hey designers, if you are creating an outfit for Macey's you may want to go more ready to wear not runway ready...just a tip from an average dresser.  and this week is the wedding dress challenge...again, the designers that are so sure and cocky are hurtin'...lovin' it.  My girl Althea is staying safe and pretty in the middle for few weeks running.  Irina has been steppin' it up the past few weeks...I think at this rate she will go far!

Survivor: SO So SO happy that loud mouth Ben got the boot last week...I haven't watched this week...in my dreams Russ is gone...but I know that is just a dream.

Have I missed any shows...Nope...still not watching Dancing with the stars or ANTM...you are on your own there:)

Poker players always lie...we learned this from Annie Duke

This show is great...I really think it is the best reality show on tv...mostly because there isn't a lot of down time (at least that we see) for the people to sit around and "bitch" and moan at each other.  We get to see that during a lot of activity and chaos...awesome!  After 2 hours and 2 episodes I have a few teams that I enjoy and a few that I can tell may drive me crazy.

Teams I like: The blonde couple, The Harlem Globetrotters, the gay brothers, Zev and his friend

Teams I dislike (already): the lawyer and his fiance (who does this guy think he is), the poker players (girlfriend is sure playing with a lot of emotion for a poker player), Miss America and her husband (oh...she is gonna bug)

The other teams I don't really think we have seen much...I did like the fact that they booted a team before they even left the starting line...pretty fun!

I need to share my feelings on little Miss Poker Players..."we're poker players...we know how to read people...we aren't getting good vibes off Zev (who has aspergers and literally gave the coat off his back to a vietnamese guy in the rain)...we don't think Lance is a lawyer" (all of this paraphrased and said in a high pitch annoying voice).  Ummmm...you aren't getting good vibes of Zev and his friend...did you not tell EVERYONE that you worked for a non-profit in LA for homeless kids...when really you are poker players? yea...you know good vibes. Just glad everyone knows who they really are now...and LOVE that they are in love with the gay brothers...who are playing up the flirty thing so fantastically.

***I hope no one is offended that I am calling them the gay brothers...I mean on offense...it's just that they are brothers and both gay and they are faking the girls out other wise and if you aren't watching you wouldn't find it funny if the "brothers" were playing up the flirty thing!  Of course, if I were on the show I would be checking them out too!

The ducks....guess it doesn't matter if you have pink hair...when you are raised in Montana, you know how to herd any animal...put those girls to shame! And seriously...those little waddling ducks were cute!

In the end...it was the on again off again couple that got the boot.  I didn't have real strong feelings about them...though, both of their tempers may have led me to dislike them if they had remained on the show...so I am not saddened by their departure!

WARM UP THE DVR!

One good thing about the end of summer is that many of our favorite shows will be back on in no time. Here's when they are scheduled to air:

September 9th:
So You Think You Can Dance
America's Next Top Model
(Both have extended first episodes)

September 15th
The Biggest Loser

September 17th
Survivor
Some of aren't lovin' this show, but I do. It's set in Samoa this time.

September 21st
Dancing with the Stars
Not usually my favorite show, but this season they have Donny Osmond and Kelly Osborn dancing. Too bad not together :) Oh, and Macy Grey will dance. Hopefully they'll get her to sing as well!

September 27th
The Amazing Race

American Idol seems like it won't be here until forever. January 2010. But since we lose Paula, who's complaining???

And the winner is...

Tammy and Victor...

Not my first pick...but I'm okay with this win!
Good job kids...
My condolences to Luke and Margie...they really should have won...for so many reasons!

Sunday, May 3, 2009

ewwww....don't eat that!

Tammy and Victor really did have the advantage tonight.  In China...one of the tasks was to take restaurant orders, given in chinese, then repeat it to the kitchen...get the food and serve.  Imagine having to repeat an order in a foreign language that you can neither understand nor speak...that would not be fun.

BUT....they made it through and were in 3rd place...then they had to eat some fried bugs, etc...it was gross and they drank a lot of water.  Water = pee so Jen had to pee...Hello?  Pee in your clothes...it is a million dollars.  Nope..took a pee stop just before the pit stop and lost...by mere seconds!

That's one potty break she will regret for the rest of her life!

Rule #2...never switch detour tasks...

As previously discussed HERE...we already know what rule #1 is. But now, we need to move on to rule #2.  If you have ever watched the show...and then are a contestant on the show...you are fully aware...that no matter how hard a task, you stick with it.  'Cause those who move to a new one almost always get eliminated.  So figure it out...get it right....complete the task and move on.  Case in point: Sync or Swim..
these two...

and these two...

chose to swim...they stuck it out...got it done and moved on.  Unfortunately for the little NFL cheerleaders, the were finally first to the mat to find out that they were only there to get another clue...teehee!

But then you have these two...

and these two...

Start a task...switch tasks...and for the sisters...they switched again!  Suck it up girls and get in the water!  I just don't get it!

On a funnier and "interesting" note...
Look at these 2 and their faces...

Then look at her face?

What is going on here?  I'm not sure about you...but when I get a pedicure I often feel like the "massage" part is a bit painful...for my taste.  It doesn't matter what salon I am at...it hurts a bit.  I'm just wondering...maybe all feet are not created equal...that's all I'm saying!

So no one got eliminated last night...this leg of the race continues next week to give us our final 3!  I like Margie and Luke and hope they win.  However, Tammy and Victor have grown on me.  I was ready to punch him the first few weeks...so controlling and bossy and just annoying.  But these two have actually improved their relationship during this little adventure.  They seem to get along better together and they seem to not really fight with one another.  Unlike Cara and Jaime who are beasty and need a slap and a reminder that they are not in the USA and not everyone in the world speaks English!  I'm indifferent about Jennifer and Lakisha.  They have always worked well together...but I was a little put off by the incident with Luke.  I don't think Luke was totally innocent in the whole situation...I just think the girls didn't really handle it the best!  Just my opinion!

I will never understand...

How teams on the Amazing Race ever loose or leave their bags behind? I just don't get why you would ever leave your bags in your cab...whether on purpose or on accident...c'mon people...c'mon!

Lucky for these forgetful sisters...

These forgetful brothers...not only had to go back too...but used "personal belongings" to pay for cab rides which gave them a 4 hour penalty...allowing the sisters to check in first.
But lucky for these brothers...it was a non-elimination round and they are still in the game!

Lucky!

Sunday Reality...

I can't decide if it is hilarious...or just awesome...that the women on Celebrity Apprentice took the prize again...3 weeks running ladies!  Hurray!!!!

Not such a hurray week for this guy though...didn't he just say last week that he wanted to stick around so that he could be project manager and "show" Mr. Trump how great he is...nice work Tom!  You got sent home over one of the strangest men on earth...Dennis Rodman!

Why can't the non-elimination round occur when teams I like are the last to arrive...like last week when cute couple Amanda and Kris got "yielded" and ended up going home...

Nope...these two silly girls get a second chance...
Christie and Jodi...better luck next week!

Some people are TOO strong headed...

I didn't watch Amazing race last week...I was a little preoccupied with my mama being here and with the Oscars...I don't even know if it was on...so hopefully your favs weren't the husband/wife from the deep south, as they are gone!  As for this week...the brother sister team/lawyers were killing me.  Hasn't the show been on long enough to know that you always look for yellow and red...and only those colors.  They are off wondering the Romanian country side on a wild goose chase...attorney brother was "following his gut".  Attorney sister kept telling him he was wrong, but "you are supposed to finish what you start"...really?  'Cause how are you supposed to finish when you haven't even started...Oh and when he finally decides to let attorney sister have an opinion...and she is right, all he can say is "oh there's an arrow...oh it says to coffins".  This team is killing me...flash to the old married couple who is so far behind they think they should give up...oh don't give up dear friends...the attorneys are not smart!!!  But alas, they make it to the mat and don't go home...and then Victor cries...and pulls out the martyr card...and he has now made me put them as one of my least favorite teams!

PS...I can't decide what is scarier...vampires or gypsies???

"Don't let the cheese hit me"

So glad it's back...

I'm not even going to try and use names...I can't figure out who is who until there are like 5 teams left...it's better to just talk about teams in the most unpolitically correct way as possible.

Why does it seem that they use the same types of couples each season.  loving Mother/obnoxious son, dumb blondes, big boobed bimbos, overly lovey siblings, mean married couple, and multiple fighting daters...

My thoughts on some of the teams...the mother/def son...I feel a little bad for the mom 'cause she is going to have to talk A LOT this season to translate for him...and he seems like he has a lot to say.  The stunt men are real short!  The orange dating team is already screaming and it is day 2...this shall be good!

Now...how long is that bungee cord...holy cow...never gonna happen!  Someone would have to push me.

I have just decided that I will never go on the Amazing Race 'cause it is just a chance for the natives to stand around laughing at the stupid Americans.  This cheese thing is hilarious...if you didn't get a chance to watch the show....find a clip on youtube...it's awesome.  Can't they roll it down the hill?  I feel a little bad...I can't stop laughing!!!

The Pit Stop:
I am very proud of Phil for learning enough sign language to tell the def kid that he was team number one...I won't lie...I teared up a bit. It's unfortunate that the orange team left first because we don't get to see their bickering all season!  Note on the orange team...on CBS.com they have the most "fans".

Favorite couple of the night: The hicks from the sticks...he just yells at her and she is hopeless.  I'm just glad they are still in the game so I can enjoy them for a little longer.

And the winner is...

They did it!!!!  They won!
Nick and Starr!

and it was actually a very close finish.  Their taxi was racing with the "separated couples" for parts of it...pretty sure those two will remain separated.
I ended up forwarding through a lot of it just to make sure that they took it all!

Monday, December 1, 2008

Noooooooooo!

I am so mad and so sad and I can't even believe it!
Why oh why did they have to be eliminated?

This is my favorite team and I REALLY wanted them to win it all!  I can't believe that Dallas left his bag of money, etc in a taxi....it screwed them the rest of the way.  And seriously...the frat boys are in the final 3...give me a break.  Unless the sibling duo screws up royally...they will take it all!

Monday, November 24, 2008

This has to be their 9th life....

These boys have had one lucky break after another...and not because of skill!
They are truly 2 of the worst competitors on this show and yet somehow they always make it through...and then this week after I thought they might finally be done....it's a non-elimination round...so help us!

If you missed this weeks episode...you truly missed out.  My household was laughing so hard we were crying...and we had to rewind and watch mulitple times...Dan...well, let's just say he is not the most coordinated person that's been on tv (watch the whole thing, it is so worth it!):

Current standings....

Our final 5 teams...Thank goodness those "divorcees" finally hit the road...I was pretty much over them after week 1...makes you wonder why they are divorced.

My hope is that Toni and Dallas (mother and son) win it all...only a few weeks left!

Who went home while I was gone...

I already announced the winner of Project runway....so here's the other shows I sadly had to wait a whole week to see...

Top Design (design a room that would exist in the year 2108)...do you remember in the '80s
and '90s when movies were made about life in 2000 whatever and there were flying cars and robots (sort of like the jetsons) and here we are in 2008 and things are just the same as they were back then...but with better fashion....well...I guess they think that in the year 2108 there are going to be flying cars and moving floors and cloning clinics....well...I won't be around to tell
you if they were spot on...but I'm guessing not.  The youngster, Natalie, was sent home which saddens me a bit because I really liked her...but that figures doesn't it? This is her room...instead of a staircase...you have a "lever" and you move the "lever to whatever floor you want to be on and the floor moves you to that living space...I guess not "futuristic" enough.

Tim Gunn's guide to style....this lady was so entirely full of herself and it was more important
to her to have name brand things then good fit and well put together outfits.  I was annoyed the entire time that she had the opportunity to be on the show...to get the elaborate gifts and fancy makeover....she is a VERY rich lady who shouldn't have these opportunities, especially with such a negative attitude!

Amazing Race...as Jo-dan is with Survivor...I have been with this show...I have just been
annoyed the past few seasons with the bad attitudes and irritating partnerships...and this season is no different.  What I do enjoy about the show...is when "sweet" girls like this make complete and total fools of themselves with comments like (on the way to Australia)...do you think they'll like blonds in Australia...seriously???  Awesome...just awesome!

America's Next Top Model...was recap week, so with all my other shows to watch I didn't even take the time.

Coming soon: Top Chef on Bravo...November 12th!
