And the winner is....

Totally called the final two...Kevin and Dave...but who will win????

DAVE

I'm a little surprised based on the season as a whole...Kevin was a little better week to week...but Dave had a way better final service AND he did good the whole season as well.  Have fun in freezing Whistler!

I'm a huge slacker...

Seems like if I get away from my daily blog about sweet reality tv, that I get so behind, I'm not even sure how to catch up...so here is how I feel about what has happened in the past week...

Hell's Kitchen: the correct final 3 is the correct final 3.  It will be interesting to see who will be up against the bald guy (let's be honest...you know who I am talking about better then if I used his name)...but I am pretty sure that "Kevin" will win the whole thing...just my opinion.  Can I just say that I am a little annoyed by his language...mostly because he has a small child that will be watching the show and seeing a whole lot of bleeps and cloudy mouths due to his use of those 4 letter words.  Guess he can't go telling the little one not to use such language if he does on national tv...I'm just saying.

Amazing Race: I kinda skimmed through this past Sunday's episode...I'm not sure why, maybe because I had a ton of other shows to get through....I wasn't sad about the older couple going home.  They seemed so nonchalant about the challenges...I guess it's a good thing they had a good time!

So you think you can dance: I'm SO glad we are finally in Vegas! I am SO glad that many of the people they spotlighted in the first few weeks have gotten the boot! I am SO glad that Dance doesn't promote their top 20 prior to them being in the top 20...it's fun that we usually don't have a clue who any of them are when the real comp begins!  Did any one else notice the blond curly hair girl.  They put here through to Vegas after her city try-out on Tuesdays show...isn't she the younger sister of Kaitlyn from last season (sucky Kaitlyn that stayed in the top 20 way too long).  I'm pretty sure that was her...how come they didn't remind us of this...is it because she makes the top 20 this year and they don't want her to have an unfair advantage???  I'm just curious!  Oh, and in case you are wondering.....I LOVE this show!  I LOVE the judges!  I LOVE nappytabs (just wanted to remind you all)....can't wait till next week and more Dance!

Project Runway: Last week they worked in teams doing "blue" outfits...what cracked me up about the outfits last week, is the designers who were so proud and sure of their outfits were in the bottom...and the designers that were being made fun of by others were in the top...Awesome! Hey designers, if you are creating an outfit for Macey's you may want to go more ready to wear not runway ready...just a tip from an average dresser.  and this week is the wedding dress challenge...again, the designers that are so sure and cocky are hurtin'...lovin' it.  My girl Althea is staying safe and pretty in the middle for few weeks running.  Irina has been steppin' it up the past few weeks...I think at this rate she will go far!

Survivor: SO So SO happy that loud mouth Ben got the boot last week...I haven't watched this week...in my dreams Russ is gone...but I know that is just a dream.

Have I missed any shows...Nope...still not watching Dancing with the stars or ANTM...you are on your own there:)

Don't go there if you want to eat...

How many Hell's Kitchens have ended before dinner service is over...sucks for the patrons. I really do have a hard time watching the show sometimes.  Mostly because Chef Ramsey can't let things go...alright already, you yelled at him about that...5 times! MOVE ON!  Tonight was a 2 hour 2 episode night...Sabrina was booted the first hour (the blonde....who cares).  Then the remaining 6 chefs got their black jackets....Tennille, Suzanne and Van don't deserve to be wearing them. Tennille's voice is like nails on a chalkboard...Suzanne is cocky for no reason at all and talks non stop and just plain annoying...and Van...well...let's just say...I can't believe he has made it this far. And because of these awesome chefs...Chef Ramsey walked out....nice! Funny how most of them stepped up and starting doing better...maybe there is something to the whole idea that berating and negative reinforcement don't work...I'm just saying!

If Dave can keep his arm from knocking him out of the competition...is should be him and Kevin as the final 2...they have been strong throughout.  Really, Kevin has always been on his A game the whole show and I would be shocked if he didn't win it all!

Second person sent home tonight...Van...no surprise...Suzanne will go next week!

Completely anti-climatic...

So I was really hoping for a playground brawl...but I was left completely disappointed.  Oh well...crazy boy was just sent home.  Then there was a pretend fire drill...and they fed some firefighters...and the girls FINALLY won a challenge.  And guess what...for the first time this season...both kitchens finished a dinner service.  Bout time!  Oh and Tennille went home...oops, no she didn't...crazy Joseph took himself out early (well...I guess that is what you call it when you shove your face in your "bosses" face) so since 2 people went home last week...everyone is safe tonight...

This show is really just funny to watch....there is so much swearing and yelling and very little successful cooking going on...for a cooking show that is! I really never understand it...but I will keep on watching!

Why is everyone so angry?

Oh...'cause Hell's Kitchen is back!  Hurray...lot's of angry chefs.  And this season it looks like everyone thinks they are tough and that it is okay to talk back to him.  Why would you ever try to act so tough and talk back...pretty sure he gets to choose the winner...try a little harder to get on his good side!

A guy actually made sausage gravy over biscuits as their signature dish...mind you he is a diner owner...but really? do you think Chef Ramsey would ever eat at a diner? Then there's an alcoholic chic with french toast...and another chic that I am pretty sure would rather get Ramsey in bed then to get a job from him. Let's just say this is an interesting group of chefs...or wanna be chefs!

Season 2 winner Heather is back as a sous chef...how come she ain't in a restaurant? Wikipedia says her contract expired with that restaurant and is now on Season 6 of Hell's Kitchen. I'll give Heather this...she looks good.  During season 2 she looked (and sounded like) a hardened, foul-mouthed new yorker (no offense to anyone)...and now she totally looks Hollywood!

Pretty sure this is the worst opening night ever.  I think the restaurant has been open for well over an hour and not a single plate has left the ladies kitchen. The freakin' chic that was being all sultry with Ramsey has had the same look on her face the whole night...seriously "deer in the headlights"...was kinda annoying to have to keep looking at.

Then "shocker" Robert from last season was asked to come back...good thing Ramsey sent home the diner cook early so the boys didn't outnumber the girls (well...until the girls had to send someone home)...and "Deer in headlights" it is...thank goodness! But wait...Robert has to cook with the girls?! Sucks for him!

hour 2...

A shrimp challenge...clean it up! Ramsey likes the saying "zero to hero"...maybe just a big fan of Hercules. But the men win the challenge...and get to eat more fancy food! And that Joseph kid that gave Ramsey crap within the first few minutes of meeting him complained while they were eating tons of seafood that he didn't come to eat food but to win the prize...hello...enjoy your win and be grateful that you aren't cleaning more shrimp and deseeding lemons.

When did JP decide to take over Ramsey's hands on approach.  I also loved how JP said there was a language barrier with Van, and when Ramsey mentioned Van speaks english, JP stated..."he's from Texas"...ahhh...it all makes sense now.

Wow...another BAD night...2 boys and 2 girls are headed up for elimination.  let's hope he sends home 2 people and they get through this season a bit faster. Good night who does this Joseph guy think he is...he just threw his jacket and stepped nose to nose with Ramsey...I think he even just told him he wanted to meet him in the parking lot after school:)  and it's continued....what in the world...do they not do background checks on these people?  Awesome!

And the winner is....

Congratulations Danny!

I don't really have an opinion on this, since my DVR made the decision, about 6 weeks ago, that I didn't need to watch this particular show anymore.  Good luck in your future!

The eliminated!

Due to AI running long (I guess announcing a 13th top 12 member takes longer then 60 minutes) I didn't get the last few minutes of Hell's Kitchen...which I am totally bummed about since this girl finally got the boot...and she wasn't even put up by her fellow chefs to be eliminated...Chef Ramsey didn't like the culinary teacher from the first episode.  It's amazing she made it this far!
Colleen: The overly priced cooking teacher...

And then there was survivor.  Another mostly uneventful episode where the pretty girl stays in the game 'cause they guys can't vote out their eye candy...
Poor Sandy has to go...I guess no guys want to flirt with her and let her wear their boxers...

V-C-I-T-O-R-Y!

Not only does she own her own cooking school...but she was also once a cheerleader...what is it they say about cheerleaders???  Okay...no offense to all my rah-rah friends out there...but seriously...why is that anytime someone tries to spell on reality tv...they can't!

Oh, and don't worry...you can enjoy more of her next week...'cause she still didn't get sent home!  This guy did...finally!

A few shows of note...

The Bachelor...I didn't comment on Monday, because the day just got away from me...I was highly disappointed that Jillian was sent to the curb...really disappointed...but I guess it is not me that is marrying any of these girls, so I shouldn't care so much.  On a more fun/angry note...there are rumors of a "shocking ending"....my cousin J alerted me to all of this.  They made a comment that "due to sensitive material the final rose show would be taped with a very small crowd"...J thought maybe it was 'cause Molly got pregnant during that "tent date"...but then she found all of this....http://realitysteve.com/...if you don't want to hear the secrets/rumors or be disappointed...don't go there and read...It will be interesting to watch the show the next couple weeks.

True Beauty...this week's challenge...a red carpet event...that you get to attend with your mother.  Walk the red carpet and then talk to all the people in the room....DUMB!!!! Ashton Kutcher's mom was there as a secret judge to help the judges know who she thinks has true inner beauty.  Anyway...Laura Leigh and Joel were sent to the "hall of beauty to face the judges".  Laura Leigh is young...immature...and very self-absorbed.  Joel is not as young...very angry...and self-absorbed.  I was irritated that the judges kept talking about how gorgeous they both are.  Laura is more cute then gorgeous and Joel is too pretty.  Anyway...the judges seem to have lost the true focus of the show as well.  But Laura Leigh was sent home...even the Joel is one of the most angry people I have ever seen.  We are now down to Joel, Julia and billy.  Julia is the only one that has never been to the "hall of beauty:  She is a little into herself....I think 'cause she is a pageant girl and is very pretty.  But she is also genuine and seems nice.  Billy is an idiot and can't figure anything else.  And you know my thoughts on Joel.  If Julia doesn't win the whole thing...then this show really isn't about inner beauty.

Survivor...Nothing really big happened this week.  They played a brutal game of "basketball" where we saw more blurred out boobs and butt-cracks then shots being made.  Really ladies...?  When your bathing suit barely stays in place when you are being interviewed...it's not gonna stay in place during a competition.  I'm wondering if maybe one-piece suits and board shorts aren't sold in all parts of the country....!  Then Candice was sent home from the black team...and the "first-blind side" of the game occurred.  Oh please, she was the 2nd person sent home...no one will remember her at the reunion show.  Note to future players...if you want to stay in the game for longer then 5 days...don't be bossy or negative.  Shut your mouth and work hard!!!

And then there's Hell's Kitchen, where there is more bleeps then words.  Okay, so the cow butcher house almost made me think going vegetarian...not because I think they are being cruel to the dead cows...but that was A LOT of meat all over the place.  And then the girls lost the challenge and had to butcher 2 cows....more gross.  I was going to list my top 3 idiots each week...but I think, at this point, I would have to just keep listing the same 3 idiots....'cause they haven't been sent home yet.  I'm still more impressed with the girls then the boys.  There are about 3 girls that I really like and do a decent job each week.  Lacey still needs to be punched and the teacher Connie needs to never enter a kitchen again.  Seth needs to get over himself and his lack of cooking ability...and Giovanni needs to not work at a steak house...since most of his steaks cooked last night got sent back.  Funniest part of last night...Lacey telling another girl she has a "bitch-switch".  My former boss "D" told me my "bitch-switch" was stuck in the on position (this was after I told him I thought I had one)...2nd funniest part...when the boys (who were serving the girls dinner service) brought back a couple of steaks that the customers wanted cooked longer...they had asked for medium rare and then decided they weren't cooked right...Chef Ramsey cut them open and then shoved them back at the boys saying they were "PERFECT"....awesome.  The boys lost and lip piercing guy got sent home...

Un-"shucking"-believable

D was very surprised by the size of the scallop shell...since a scallop is so small, he assumed the shell would be small. It is fairly amazing how large the shell is...how much "stuff" is in the shell...and how tiny the little scallop you pull out is...guess I can appreciate the price of them now...still don't want to have to pay...but can appreciate them...that is synopsis enough for tonight's show...now it is time to pick on the chefs. It will be hard to pick, since the ones I slammed last week...need to be slammed again...but I will try to pick a few new ones.

Okay...I can't slam Robert...I honestly feel a little bad for him.  The men won the challenge and the reward was a helicopter ride to Catalina island...the show only insures helicopter riders up to 300 pounds...Robert weighs 400 pounds...Robert had to take the ferry to Catalina Island...Robert arrived after the boys had finished their helicopter ride and some aquarium/fish thing...He walked off the ferry, greeted the rest of his team....turned around and got back on the ferry with the team to head back home...poor guy!

This guy...Seth...he is borderline creepy...oh who am I kidding...he is totally creepy.  Not only is he a terrible chef...but he is super stalker of Chef Ramsey...I mean super stalker...He knows EVERYTHING about Chef Ramsey...worse yet...he told his teammates and they told Ramsey and I really think he got creeped out as Seth starts rattling off facts.

Okay...so I know I railed on her last week...but this girl...wow!  During the 15 minutes they had to shuck the scallops...she did 3...and slaughtered all 3.  Oh...and when the girls had to follow through with their punishment...Lacey "was ill" and stayed in bed for 6 hours, while the other girls worked...nice!

Now I gotta give a shout out to Ji...Ji was a great chef...Ji hurt her ankle, bad!  Ji worked the line anyway and did great.  Ji ended up in a wheel chair for the end of the show and was in serious pain...and even though Lacey or the "teacher" should have gone home...Ji said she would volunteer to go home because she couldn't give 100% in the kitchen and she wants the girls to win.  It is really too bad...'cause I think Ji would have gone far.  On another note...the girls have about 4 chefs that so far seem stable and seem to be good chefs...they haven't gotten yelled at and I am excited to see if they can stay that sane!

He's Baaaaack!

I kinda forgot when this show aired...but I am soooo glad it's back!  If you can handle the constant bleeping...the show is truly hilarious.

Here are my top pics for tonight's premiere:

Colleen....Colleen is a culinary teacher.  She owns her own school and charges $300 for a 3-4 hour class.  Would you pay $300 to be taught by someone who had NEVER been to culinary school, or ever been professionally trained as a chef?  Just wondering...

Giovanni....Giovanni got to spend the first night in Hell's Kitchen as a waiter...Giovanni was asked, by a customer, what polenta is...Giovanni didn't know.  Maybe Giovanni went to Colleen's school...

And then there's Lacey...Lacey, Lacey, Lacey.  Lacey is a cook at a corporate buffet.  Lacey feels that people only see her as a pretty girl and not as a good chef....you decide...

There are so many fantastic contestants this season...you should really check it out...Thursdays on Fox.  I'll give you a little flavor of more of the chef wannabes next week!

Hell's got a new cook

Congrats to Christina for winning the coveted position as executive chef at Chef Ramsey's new Restaurant in LA...If only we had a competition with a tacky award for this show...I soooo would have won!  Sorry Petrozza, but your messy ways just can't be accepted!

Very interesting...

So...after reading AJ's post, I couldn't help but wonder.... Where can I get a Capuchin monkey? Will it REALLY help me overcome these empty nest (or never filled nest) feelings? What I discovered was both intriguing and disturbing. First off...this information is on ABC Primetime...NOT Dateline NBC...AJ, I need accurate info if I'm going to do accurate research. Second, these people SHOWER with their monkeys...I find that very disturbing. I don't like my pets to see me "down there"...it just creeps me out. Another issue is that these monkeys apparently often turn on their owners...just like teenagers. Interesting. It also sounds like some of the monkeys act out similar to foster children who are experiencing PTSD or Reactive Attachment Disorder. The monkeys who are acting out are all purchased on the Internet...or, what I like to call, the Black Market of Human Trafficking. However, I think the real crime is putting clothes on monkeys. If they are going to try and make this work, they need to set up some sort of Monkey Adoption Service.... My answer to this growing problem is a cabbage patch doll. Not only can you find a doll that looks like you (I think this doll is a perfect combination of Dan and I...cute little round cheeks, adorable golfing outfit and, if you look closely, you can see he has sprinkles on his face...Dan and I like sprinkles!), but he won't ruin your house, and you can find lots of cute outfits to put on him...and if you carry him around with you wherever you go, people won't think you are any crazier than the nuts with the monkeys...Win Win!

On a different note, we are watching Celebrity Family Feud...I LOVE Family Feud and Al Rocher...so this show is great. I call out my responses and am annoyed when they don't say what I say...as if my guesses are the most obvious choices! But we have not yet watched the Japanese Game Show or Wipeout...possibly because Tuesday nights I typically work until at least 8:00pm, so when I'm finally home for the night, we only have enough time for one or two shows...and usually we are making up for the previous evenings. Last nights episode has Dogg the Bountyhunter and the Girls Next Door...now THAT is ENTERTAINMENT!!!!!

Now, it is time for me to share my opinions about Hell's Kitchen. First off, I love and hate how they are doing the finale this year. I HATE how they are splitting the finale between two weeks, but I LOVE the flashback of the season...I usually fast forward through these, since I am a dedicated TV watcher and rarely miss an episode of anything that I care about, but this time I decided to watch, and I'm so glad I did! Even though I watched all the episodes, I felt like this review of the season gave me insights that I totally missed. I had enjoyed Christina for most of the season, but after the review...I hate her. She is so cocky and stuck on herself. Then, in the actual finale, she goes mega-cocky and states that she has this competition "in the bag".... She is such a brat! Petroza is the nicest guy...yes, he is a slob in the kitchen...and yes, his food is often a little weird (hen in a pumpkin...REALLY!!!), but he has been the most consistent of all the contestants during service...and he was great at the pass. I don't know if Gordo will actually pick Petroza, but I will be rooting for him during the actual finale next week. Go Petroza!!!!

HELL'S BELLE

Hell's Kitchen is down to two likable contestants. What happened to the theory that they like to have one antagonist and one protagonist? I could seriously be happy with either choice, but it just seems like Christina has it more together and has more desire to win. Petrozza has more skill as a chef. Of course I say this and have never tasted either's food and Christina has won all the challenges. And last night they had to remind us that Petrozza's opening dish was "Hen in a Pumpkin". That was just gross.
I was happy to see Ben back (though he has such a potty mouth, which is something to say when you consider the whole show is pretty much one giant bleep) and Jen still makes me cringe.
So, who's it gonna be? Dallin can't get the poll to work, so just post a comment on who you think is going to win. Personally, I think it's going to be Christina.

"Hell" ya!

I knew it...I knew that Corey would go home and that the final 2 would be Christina and Petroza.  David has liked Petroza from the first (well maybe third) show, and really wants him to win.  I have been rooting for Christina for quite some time....but Petroza has been doing a lot better all around so it really could be him.  Can't wait to find out.  Make sure you vote for who you think will win!

I Survived a Japanese Game show and the Amish

I watched I Survived a Japanese Game Show-show last night because I thought it was going to be a documentary or something. It was on right after WIPEOUT and I thought maybe it was telling how executives stole the idea for Wipeout from the Japanese game shows. Imagine my surprise when I find this is a game show all on it's own. Did anyone else watch it? I have to say I am somewhat indifferent on it at this moment, but due to the lack of things to watch on Tuesdays, I went ahead and DVRed it (FYI:DVRed is now a word).

The premise is that a group of Americans went to LA to participate in a reality game show. But they didn't know WHAT reality game show they were going to be part of. They then flew to Japan and were on the set of a popular Japanese game show while still wondering what was up. They are competing in this show against one another and someone gets sent home each night.
The more I was thinking about this show, the more I had to give the creators of it props. Not only do they have a show to debut in the dead of summer TV time to US audiences, but they have a show for Japanese viewers as well. Apparently, Japanese folks like to watch stupid Americans make fools of themselves in silly challenges.

Moving right along...The Outsiders. Did anyone see this one? It's on ABC. Again, I thought it was going to be a documentary about the struggle Amish youth have trying to decide if they want to "stay Amish" or "join the English world". Again, I was surprised to find it is a series. It's going to follow these kids and discuss various aspects of their struggle for identity. I thought it was interesting. Anyone?

And because that was apparently not enough TV for one night, I also have to comment on Hell's Kitchen. Was anyone shocked to see Corey go? You have Petrozza with the knowledge and skill and experience (though very messy way about it) and Christina with a decidedly good pallet and drive to never forget this is a competition. Christina keeps winning challenges, but what about her consistency? Petrozza cries a lot...but I find it somewhat endearing. I really don't know which of the two will win and I think I am completely happy either way!

I also found a fun link to a reality TV site. I added it to the links on the side. It's probably been found already but there you go.
