And the winner is...

Nathan....You have the top design!

...and boy am I glad.  He was one of my favs from the beginning and so I am glad they choose him.  Preston was good...but all his color palettes were the same.  Now that he has won, who really can afford to have him come design their home?

The top 3...

I have been hit a miss with most of my reality show, as I am still out of town...but last night I got to see Top Design. I am soooo glad because the final 3 were chosen and next week is the finale! I am VERY happy with the final three:

Ondine...I haven't really liked anything she has done in the past...but I really liked this room!

Preston...I feel like he uses the same color palette in every room...however, they are SO my taste and I think they are great!

Nathan...personality wise, I like him best.  He also has done some great rooms.  This one is pretty boring...but still calm and peaceful, which I like.

So those are your final three.  I think it may actually be a pretty close finish.  They judges have loved Preston's rooms the past few weeks, and he has even won the previous 2 competitions.  But they also have lots of great things to say about Nathan's rooms.  Ondine should have gone home last week, but Andrea walked instead (by her own choice)...Ondine has always been in the bottom and the judges have always questioned her rooms...but this week she did great!  I personally would like to see Nathan win...but if Preston continues to please the judges they way he has, it may all be his.

Of course, there was a loser last night....Eddie.  Eddie is more full of himself then Martha Stewart...and he works for Martha Stewart's magazine as a lead designer.  Eddie has had a couple good rooms...but most are very country or traditional...I guess, very Martha.  Although some of the rooms I think she would even have disapproved of...particularly this "Golden Girls" dream house room.  Seriously....couldn't you see ma sleeping in this room?

I guess if you're not on "Top" you should just give up and go home...

And that is just what Andrea Schroeder did.  She just misses her family too much...she got farther then she thought she would...she isn't as good as the other designers....waa waa waa...whine whine whine.  I hate it when contestants quit...give me a break.  Here is this amazing opportunity and you walk away because you are feeling overwhelmed.  How many times do we have to hear that you are a mother first...give me a break.  Every body left their homes, family, friends, etc. to come here...suck it up you only have a few more weeks.  But no....she was given the chance to go or stay (because her room was better then Ondine's) and she walked.  Drive me crazy!  The sad thing is that her room was my favorite this episode (the rest sucked) and even the judges commented that she is improving...She could have made it into the top 3 if she stuck around.  Whatever....go home! Okay, I feel much better!

Who went home while I was gone...

I already announced the winner of Project runway....so here's the other shows I sadly had to wait a whole week to see...

Top Design (design a room that would exist in the year 2108)...do you remember in the '80s
and '90s when movies were made about life in 2000 whatever and there were flying cars and robots (sort of like the jetsons) and here we are in 2008 and things are just the same as they were back then...but with better fashion....well...I guess they think that in the year 2108 there are going to be flying cars and moving floors and cloning clinics....well...I won't be around to tell
you if they were spot on...but I'm guessing not.  The youngster, Natalie, was sent home which saddens me a bit because I really liked her...but that figures doesn't it? This is her room...instead of a staircase...you have a "lever" and you move the "lever to whatever floor you want to be on and the floor moves you to that living space...I guess not "futuristic" enough.

Tim Gunn's guide to style....this lady was so entirely full of herself and it was more important
to her to have name brand things then good fit and well put together outfits.  I was annoyed the entire time that she had the opportunity to be on the show...to get the elaborate gifts and fancy makeover....she is a VERY rich lady who shouldn't have these opportunities, especially with such a negative attitude!

Amazing Race...as Jo-dan is with Survivor...I have been with this show...I have just been
annoyed the past few seasons with the bad attitudes and irritating partnerships...and this season is no different.  What I do enjoy about the show...is when "sweet" girls like this make complete and total fools of themselves with comments like (on the way to Australia)...do you think they'll like blonds in Australia...seriously???  Awesome...just awesome!

America's Next Top Model...was recap week, so with all my other shows to watch I didn't even take the time.

Coming soon: Top Chef on Bravo...November 12th!

Going green...going home!

I am struggling with the balance between what the clients what their rooms to look like and what the designers do.  If a client wants colorful and bold...why would you ever decorate their room with neutral plain colors and no accessories.  I just don't understand why a designer wouldn't give you just what you want...whether it is your "ascetic" or not.

This week the designers were to decorate offices for a company that is "eco--friendly" and works with water recycling.  They had to try to be as "green" as possible.  Reuse furniture, fabric, etc.  Ondine made a light out of recycled water bottles..very cool!  The rooms were very nice looking, overall!

Eddie is probably the most annoying on the show...and is sooo full of himself and I can hardly stand it.  So at the beginning of the show, each designer met with their client and worked out the details of the room.  Nathan (who is one of the best designers) thought it would be great to tear up the carpet and use it on the wall as a place to pin notes, etc.  Then there was a switch-a-roo and the designers had to switch rooms with another designer.  Eddie got Nathan's room and in the midst of the trade-off Nathan told him about the carpet idea...which he did.  Then...in the judging portion Eddie got praised for the idea and look of it (it was very cool looking) and he said thanks....thanks!  Not giving any credit to Nathan...I thought that was VERY lame!  Unfortunately, he does great every week and will be annoying me for who knows how much longer!  Dang it!

Okay...the loser...Whizit...thank goodness!  He was not only annoying, but his designs were BORING!!!!  So....real glad he's gone!

The quickest recap...

I forgot that reality TV really does keep going like gang busters in the fall.  Bravo carries over their summer shows for a few more weeks (in fact...stupid Top Design rerun recorded instead of The Office Premiere...D is going to be sooo mad)...and then new reality shows premiere...so here we go:

Top Design...teams of 3 decorated for Bachelors...Shazia went home...Thank goodness!!!!

Kitchen Nightmares...on Fox...if you don't watch you should...of course the show on Thursday night is not a good night with everything else....but I caught the first of 2 new episodes...it is a great show...If you like Chef Ramsey from Hell's kitchen.

Survivor...didn't see....anyone?

Does this look familiar?

Andrea and Ricky Schroeder at the Emmys....

Does this dress look familiar?

Hmmmm....I guess when she mentioned on the show that she loved the dress and would totally wear it on the red carpet...she really meant it!

Wednesday night reality

ANTM:  There are just too many girls to even keep track of still...I only know that names of the girls who annoy! Case in point....Brittney.  Every time she was on the screen she talked about how she doesn't just want to be "pretty"...if life was only that hard!  Poor Brittney...not being talked about as high fashion and a "top model" already...poor baby....hey...GO HOME!  Yipee..she's gone!  Oh...the photo shoot this week was swimsuits!  And really...they didn't have horrible things to say about any of the shots....so not a entirely eventful shoot.  BUT...the best part of the show...MAKEOVERS!!!  Love that!  And of course...all the after shots were a huge improvement over the blah blah looks from before.  I would like to go on the show simply to have my haircut by a very expensive hair dresser....

Project Runway...the designers designed outfits for recent college grads, as they enter the workforce.  BIG CATCH: mommy is along for the ride.  And when I say ride, I mean highly opinionated and overbearing...well this shall be fun!  Okay...really....who
wears these clothes? Normally when I ask this question on a typical week...the answer is, only on the runway...but this week they are to design for normal everyday people doing everyday jobs...so seriously, who wears
these clothes?  The winner: Jarell....His outfit was fine.  I, of course, like Korto's the best.  Oh well...at least she was in the top 3.  The loser: Joe.  Thank goodness....he isn't a good designer and his outfit was terrible....

Top Design...and if you are a fan of project runway...this is a happy night for you.  Former project runway contestants are the clients for the designers.  The challenge: design a store front for an outfit designed by the project runway person...following?  Have I used the word design
enough?  I LOVE this show...I am just amazed at these people and how they are able to come up with such amazing ideas...the colors they choose and accessories...I just wish I could do it!  The "TOP DESIGN": Ondine and Natalie.  They designed for Sweet Pea and I loved it.  The loser....Kerry "Big Daddy" and Wisit (who sucks).  Unfortunately, Kerry was sent home.  I am very sad because I really like him.  Chazi (sp?)...is a terrible designer...okay...maybe not terrible...but is riding coattails big time!!!  I wish she and Wisit would go!  My fav designers right now are Natalie and Andrea (aka...Ricky Schroeder's wife).

Wednesday on Bravo...

I always look forward to Thursday mornings when I can sit and enjoy 2 hours of Bravo tv....they show there "new" shows way too late on Wednesday night for me to watch.  Oh...and whoever watched Next Top Model...please fill me in...I forgot to record it last night.

Okay...I love project runway...but this season I haven't really loved any one particular designer.  Well...I take that back...the 2 I was originally liking...were "aufed", but I do still love Korto and for the past few weeks she has been more then safe...so here's hoping.  I guess the personalities of the designers are just real blah this season, even Korto.  Oh well...it is still so fun to watch what they come up with and to listen to Heidi's accent and Michael Kohrs crazy evaluations!!!  There is one chick (not going to take the time to look her up) that I am shocked is still on, she totally bugs (long dark hair and dresses like she wants it to be 1963).....sadly Blayne from Seattle (woowoo) left us last night (sniff sniff) along with Terri (hallelujah).  Yep, a double elimination...Good, let's get this show on the road!  I'm not going into the details...it was avant garde night based on the designers "signs" and their looks were terrible in contrast to last season's avant garde runway...oh well!

Now Top Design...it is turning into one of my fav design shows....last night they were put into pairs and had to decorate a "fall out shelter".  They seriously had bomb shelters for them to decorate...100% cement with a huge door that could be sealed shut.  It was amazing what they did to these rooms...however, no room would ever be livable for 50 years...if you couldn't leave.  Little Ricky Schroeder's wife is on as a designer and I have to say that I actually enjoy her (so far)...last night she and her teammate had the "Top Design"...

Bravo tv has done it again!

Maybe I only need to watch the Bravo channel...they seem to have a reality tv show for everything...clothes, food and now interior decorators....hair, salons, real estate and on and on.  Okay so Top Design is actually in its 2nd season...but I have just discovered it and woohoo, I know have another reality comp show to enjoy.  It airs just after Project Runway, if you care to view.  It is almost the exact same show as "the next design star" on HGTV...but hey, I ain't complaining...I love this stuff!

Okay...quick recap of Project Runway....Stella that black clad...always uses grommets girl was "aufed"...so glad!  I am pretty sure I didn't enjoy a single thing she made!!!
