American idol---Week 5---the singing

Due to severe 3rd degree burns from spending every waking minute on the beautiful beaches of California, TT is unable to update us on AI this week, so I will be taking it on. I plan to be brief (not because I don't have a lot to say, but because I am tired and watched the show SEVERAL hours ago, so I don't even remember who sang what and when...).

Danny-I don't think he "made the song his own"...it sounded pretty familiar to me.

Kris-Obviously did not get the memo about NOT singing on a tiny stage surrounded by semi interested fans (ie Matt's performance last week). It wasn't great, but I still like him...

Lil-I am getting super annoyed with her song choices....Lil's voice is incredible, and she could be wowing us every week with that power house, but she keeps choosing weird songs that do not showcase her talent.

Anoop-He sure has found his niche...super slow (and boring) ballads. His voice sounded pretty good (compared to himself on previous weeks), but I don't love him...

Scott-Finally took Paula's advice and stepped away from the piano. Good idea? NO!!!! Just when we thought we lost the most awkward dancer to ever grace the AI stage (I'm talking about Megan here, who was even more awkward than Brooke last year...), Scott steps away from his comfort zone to show us his "performance" skills. The falsetto was not good, but I was touched when he mentioned that he was trying to show that he can rock, and show that he is versatile before he goes home...he knows it's coming soon...

Alison-I am incredibly annoyed that she was in the bottom last week...she ROCKS! I think she might be my favorite! She always puts a unique twist on every song, and I would definitely listen to her album...vote for Alison!

Matt-Does anyone else think he was specifically trying to look like JT this week so that he can get more votes? The judges loved him, but I thought he was ok. His falsetto is pretty good, though.

Adam-A standing O? Really, Simon? I have to give Adam credit for giving a new twist to many songs, but this one sounded pretty much exactly as I remember it. However, did anyone else have a problem with their DVR's cutting off his entire song because they went about 5 minutes over? It's a good thing we record the show after, or we never would have caught it.

Ok, don't forget to add your votes to the comments...I sure hope we see a return from Mrs. Juan and Sho this week...

PS. I don't know if TT is really aching from burns...I just assumed that something horrifying must have happened to her to keep her from blogging about AI.
