Dance...week 4...the dancing!

Once again, TT is out of town, so I will be filling in for her...hope you don't mind!

Guest Judge for the night...Mia Michaels. The cast is sharing their Highs and Lows of their SYTYCD experience...but it seems a little more like a recap of the season so far...

Janette and Brandon: Cha Cha...Now, I like Janette, but she really needs to keep her mouth closed while she dances...it is really distracting me from the great dancing! Seriously, that routine was great....or as Nigel said, "The best damn cha cha" he's ever seen. It's pretty impressive that they continue to shine every week despite the fact that they have not yet danced their own styles. I've been waiting for this couple to mess up, and I just haven't seen it yet...

Kayla and Kupono: Contemporary...this dance has some very interesting movements. I am not a fan of Kayla's personality, but I can not fault her dancing...it is superb. Vampires are so "in" right now that it was only a matter of time before there would be a vampire inspired number...I would have expected to see it from Wade, but Sonja would have been my next guess. Great choreography, great dancing, great costumes...great performance.

Randi and Evan: Broadway...does this gal remind anyone else of Chantel? I felt like the choreography did not have much substance to it...It was an entertaining dance, and America loves these two, but I personally did not think this was the greatest number. Honestly, it wasn't bad at all...but for that being Evan's style they really should have wowed me.

Caitlin and Jason: Jazz...Aliens procreating...this should be interesting. I agree with Nigel...they both committed 100% and the outfit was hideous. The dance was just weird and creepy...and quite possibly the worst dance for a couple who has been in the bottom three for the last two weeks to dance. That dance is not going to keep them out of the bottom...

Janene and Phillip: Hip Hop...I like Janene and Phillip, but I'm confused...didn't they dance Hip Hop the first week? And didn't NappyTabs choreograph them? This is sooooo rigged! And totally unfair to the rest of the dancers! I protest! I think the chain adds a new dimension to this dance...and he had the key the whole time! I am SHOCKED that Phillip rocked the dance...SHOCKED (I hope you are picking up on the sarcasm, because I am laying it on pretty thick...). SOME people in my household think this was just the luck of the draw...Give me a break...RIGGED! TMI, Nigel? Really?

Melissa and Ade: Pas de deux...I am excited to see the point shoes in action! I'm so glad that she got this dance because I don't think anyone else could have done it. Her form is so beautiful...she is incredible! And Ade was an excellent prop for her. Melissa rocks! Does anyone else think Cat is kind of a dork?

Karla and Vitolio: Quick step...this is the first time these two are dancing together. They had me at that dress change! I think they did a pretty good job with the steps, and keeping their lines straight. I agree, this was an entertaining routine, and I don't think these two could have done the dance as well with their old partners.

Overall, it was an entertaining night and no one really stood out as being the next to go...so this could be an interesting points week for all! Leave your bottom three and the two going home in the comments...good luck!

Thanks so much, Jo-Dan, for your comments in the absence of TT. You did a terrific job, and I think I must agree with your bottom 3:

Karla and Vitolio
Caitlin and Jason
Randi and Evan (I love this couple, but I'm really not into Broadway dancing)
Going home:
Caitlin and Jason

Thank you Jo-Dan for taking care of the post...I love to read your entire opinion of the show instead of a quick recap...and for the most part entirely agree with you! I was lucky enough to watch the show tonight with a majority of the players in the comp...(my cousins)...and it is interesting to me that all of us have the same favorites...so I am hoping America will agree with us too and keep them all in...even if they have to dance a Broadway number with little dance steps and no choreography to show us their amazing talent!

I agree with your counterpart on the "luck of the draw"...they show them drawing out of a hat each week...soooooo...I'm just saying. Although it is interesting that the first week they do a classical ballet number, the classical ballerina "draws" that dance...but I don't care...as long as my favs get to shine, I'm good!

This is going to be an interesting week in the votes, because, for the most part, everyone did a good job. I didn't "hate" any of the dances, although I dislike a few of the dancers. I too wish that Brandon and Jeanette would "BOMB" so they could GO HOME! But until that happens, I will just vote another way...

Bottom 3:
Caitlin & Jason
Karla & Vitolio
Randi & Evan (which KILLS me...but I think the dance was too boring)

Going home:
Karla & Vitolio (only because it seems Caitlin's solos are always SO good...of course now that I am voting for her they will boot her)...whatever!

Keep'n up with the Cameron said...
