American Idol---Week 8---the singing

I watched the show at a friend's house...and through the screaming kids I kinda heard.  My thoughts before I plow through on the DVR....thought Kris did great, thought Allison did great (just love her voice, but I don't think America is buying into her), Matt was fine, Danny was good (Danny has a good voice...I just don't care for him)...couldn't stand Adam...I know, I know, you aren't surprised.  One of my friends made the comment that Adam is VERY theatrical and in the past the judges have not liked that...now all of a sudden (in their eyes) no one can compare...we were glad to hear that Randy, at least, called it theatrical.  I am just sick of Adam's screechy high notes...seems like every song he sings sounds the same to me.  Alright...now I will watch again...this time in the quite of my home (with lil D in bed...hopefully he will stay there...)...but I can't promise that I am going to watch Adam again...I just can't enjoy him...

Songs: standards from the Rat Pack era...when I first heard this I registered "Brat Pack" and was not looking forward to 80s music...Rat Pack...a lot better!

Guest "singer"/mentor...Jamie Foxx...awesome...love this guy!!!! I don't think I could sing to him...He just cracks me up to much! And I always just picture him on "In Living Color"...

To the singers:

Kris..."The Way you look tonight"...(ohhh...I LOVE that Jamie loves Kris). Okay...I loved that...I would totally buy his CD...I would...I think he has a fantastic voice and I would totally put him in my CD collection with Michael Buble, John Mayer and Billy Joel...yep, that's where he would go.  Here goes Kara with her "words"...and Paula trying to look like she walked out of 1960 whatever.  

***You all know I love Simon and 99% of the time agree with him...however, this season, I am struggling with his opinions.  He is, for some unknown and crazy reason, a huge Adam performer and nobody can live up to him...it is just driving me crazy!

Allison...(newly 17)..."Someone to watch over me" (I love this song...Mr. Holland's Opus anyone?)...I don't care if America ain't buying into it...I love this girl's voice...just fantastic.  I would buy her CD too...and it would go in between Kelly C and Pink. Why is Randy stealing my Pink comparison...back off! 

Matt..."My Funny Valentine"...I don't think I love this song...(Jamie is awesome and really just makes me smile)...Matt's problem: he sings the song fantastic during the practice sessions with the mentor...but then he gets on stage and it seems to fall apart a bit...the pressure? I just don't know!  Why does he have to do all the stuff at the end?  Paula's always feeling "emotional connections"...and then Simon thinks it's believable...I don't get it!

Danny..."Come Rain or Come Shine"...puttin' a bluesy twist to it. I don't know what the draw is to Danny...but if it comes down to he or Adam in the final...I will be voting...BIG TIME...for "D". For that matter...I will be voting all 2 hours for whoever comes against Adam...Like I said above...Danny has a good voice...but that's all I get from  him.

Adam..."Feeling Good"...oh there's a shocker...rock edge!  All the notes...syllables...whatever you want to call them, are borderline screechy and then he goes truly screechy.  What is that and why does he do that every song...seriously...I would never buy his CD 'cause every song would sound the same.  Go ahead judges...praise the crap out of him...while Adam stands there so full of himself.  Did Paula just compare him to Michael Phelps? I hate when he is the last to sing 'cause I leave my fav show with an overall yucky feeling!  I wish I hadn't listened to him again.

Now for the bottom...I'm not sure if they will do a bottom 3 now that they are down to 5...but go ahead and do the 3 and if they only tell us the bottom 2 will do 5 and 10 points.  I'm a little concerned about my girl Allison...it will be a little interesting to see who goes home this week...best of luck!!!
